Surfing at Sennen
Popular with Penwith’s surfing collective and just about any other surfer in Cornwall, Sennen Beach is a beautiful sprawling beach, located in the far west of the county and catching swell from the North Atlantic and Biscay.
Carrying the classic mantra of, ‘If it’s flat at Sennen, it’s flat everywhere,’ Sennen Beach is probably the most accurate and natural surf forecaster in the county.
When it’s working on the north end of Sennen beach waves can rear up to six to foot high, whilst further south smaller but punchy waves pound the shore, courtesy of a sandbar pre mid tide. But beware of the odd rip.
Sennen village is a gorgeous village with plenty of parking, shops, cafes and bars, and when the summer hits it’s like the entire UK population have come to one beautiful place.
Check out The Beach Restaurant overlooking Sennen Beach, which offers cuisine that’s out of this world.
