Surfing at Constantine

Nuzzling up against Booby’s, a nearby beach, Constantine Bay with its big reef breaks is best suited to highly experienced surfers. Over half a mile of sandy beach and marram grassed dunes are often more attractive to surfers than the intimidating peaks of power roaring onto Constantine’s shoreline at high tide.

Towards the south lies the reef which is a formidable ride on a spring high tide, and at the northern end of Constantine Bay it really works if the stream from the Constantine Golf Club is flowing at pace.

Add dangerous rips to difficult reef breaks and you have a tough surfing beach, so surfing at Constantine Bay is not for the faint hearted.
